Chaplin Estates
In 1913, registered the father and the development team, the son of John William Chaplin and James D. Chaplin, a plan of subdivision of an upscale residential neighborhood. Land use is tightly controlled: The restrictions to building many rules that there should be no stucco houses and could not cover more than half of all out of the house. Marketed by Chaplin Realty Company, new products sold in the 1920′s. The houses, built in 1920 and 1930, was very popular in the English cottage, Tudor and Georgian styles. Land prices range from $ 500 to $ 9000.
Today, Chaplin Estates is an enclave in the desired single-family homes. Many of the features of a complete internal restructuring, but the outside to keep the old sign. Upper Canada College, 200 Lonsdale Road, has provided private education for children since 1829.
Chaplin Estates has a number of places to play. Route the belt line, a test transmission line near the old nature, flows along Chaplin Crescent. Provides an avenue of trees for runners, walkers and cyclists. Oriole Park at the southern end of Chaplin Estates, has the Neshama Playground, designed to be accessible to children of all levels. Eglinton Park, located at 200 Eglinton Avenue West, sports fields, ice rink and swimming pool. It also has two community centers. North Toronto Memorial Community Center with indoor and outdoor, and a variety of fitness programs. North Toronto Memorial Arena offers ice time for hockey and skating local agencies. Appletree Farmers Market will be held at Eglinton Park in the summer and in the community center in winter.
Two of Chaplin Estates areas of the shops are busy. Yonge-Eglinton Centre, 30 Eglinton Avenue West, there are four floors of shops, a library and a cinema. Eglinton Avenue West between Oriole Parkway and Chaplin Crescent, which is known as El Camino Eglinton. In this case, the buyer is located, furniture stores fitness studies.
